    • A fortune 100-company with over 10 hotel brands, Cendant has been a leader for franchise sales growth over the last 15 years.  As Senior Director, Franchise Retention Sales, Ted was responsible for the negotiations of License Agreements which included Franchise Renewals, Terminations, Expirations and primarily Transfers – sales of existing and open franchises. Ted oversaw transactions for all Cendant Brands in the Central and Northwestern Regions in over 15 states, handling and executing new license agreements and overseeing over 80 transactions a year.

  • Intercontinental Hotels Group, Chicago, Illinios – July 2001 to April 2004 - Director, Franchise Sales & Development

    • One of the industry’s premier hotel companies IHG is the parent company and franchisor of Intercontinental; Crown Plaza; Hotel Indigo; Holiday Inn; Holiday Inn Express; Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites brands. Located in the Midwest region and responsible for franchise sales and development in IL, IN, MI & WI, Ted was IHG’s leader in franchise sales his rookie year (2002) with the company which was at a time when development was at a standstill.  Ted was instrumental in helping further the growth of the Staybridge brand in areas such as St Louis, Detroit, Madison and Central Illinois. Ted also played a key role in helping launch IHG’s new select-service Holiday Inn Prototype, being one of team’s leaders in sales and played a key role in one of Hotel Indigo’s first locations - downtown Chicago.

  • US Franchise Systems - Minneapolis, MN/Chicago, Illinios – August 1997 to July 2001 - Sales Associate/Director, Franchise Sales & Development

    • Founded in 1995, USFS was formed to grow, through franchising, the Microtel and Hawthorn Suites brands. In 1997, the company added and team of 8 Franchise Sales Associates whose sole role was to support franchise sales and development for both brands. The team was to be groomed for the sales effort of USFS’s next purchase, Best Inns & Suites. As Franchise Sales Associate, Ted helped to grow the Microtel brand in MN, WI & MI and was promoted to Franchise Sales Director - Best Inns in MN, IA, ND, SD, MT & WY. Shortly thereafter, Ted relocated to Chicago handling franchises sales for all three USFS brands in IL, WI & MI. Ted was a member of several All-star sales teams.
